We know it can be a bit confusing figuring out the difference between a rim and a bezel.
This page is here to answer some of your questions. And if this doesn't help, feel free to give us a call.
 
COLOR GUIDE  RIM STYLES BEZELS
 
   GAUGE ANATOMY 
 
1.  Needle  Simple enough!
It's the red, orange, black or white piece that rotates indicating your reading.
2.  Dial / Face

The printed plate of the gauge. White, Platinum or Silver-Carbon Fiber dials will have black graphics.
Black & Carbon Fiber dials will have white graphics.

3.  Rim

The outside ring around the gauge that holds the lens in place. The rim is machined on, and cannot be replaced by hand.
4.  Bezel A separate colored ring that slips on behind the gauge.

5.  Cutout
size
The diameter of the hole the gauge will be place in.
6.  Overall
size
The total diameter of the gauge including the rim. Adding a bezel behind the gauge increases your overall diameter.

Important Cleaning Tip:

When detailing your boat, resist the urge to use anything but
Windex® window cleaner. Use a soft cloth and Windex® to clean the lens
of your gauges. If you use a rough paper towel and the wrong cleaner,
your lenses will get damaged.

  MORE GAUGE TERMS 
7. Electric Gauge A gauge that uses a sender to transmit the electronic signal to the gauge. 
8. Mechanical Gauge  A gauge that is connected using hose and fittings to send the signal. These gauges have a 270° sweep.
9. Senders  The part used with electrical gauges to send a signal  from the engine to the gauge 
10. Kit Aterm used to describe all the components needed to install a gauge. This includes the gauge it self.
